Telkwa is a gorgeous community located at the confluence of two world class salmon bearing rivers, the Bulkley River and the Telkwa River. The pristine rivers in Telkwa attract water sport adventurers and are excellent to canoe, kayak, or raft.

Nestled in between the mountains and alongside two rivers, Telkwa is a scenic gem in the Bulkley Valley. The towering mountain ranges create awe-inspiring views, and local wildlife provide for many a perfect photo.

Bordering the Village of Telkwa is the Tyhee Provincial Park which conveniently offers a campground, swimming, hiking, walking, bird viewing, a boat launch and picnic site during the summer. Telkwa is home to the Bulkley Valley Kinsman’s annual Labour Day weekend Telkwa Barbeque. This three-day celebration includes live rock and country music on the magnificent outdoor stage, baseball tournament, pit roasted beef barbeque, and demolition derby. During the winter locals and tourists enjoy ice finishing, skating, and cross-country skiing on the frozen lake.

The Telkwa Pass is an excellent award-winning ATV route. Telkwa was awarded a bronze for “most challenging ATV area” and silver for “most scenic area” by RidersWest Magazine.

Skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing are welcome activities when the snow flies. During the winter, the perimeter trail is plowed, which allows for easy access for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walking.

With its magnificent towering ranges and extensive offering of year-round outdoor activities, Telkwa is an excellent place to visit and play.
